The shortage of clear recognition of Rwanda’s aggression against the DRC under the March 23 Movement (M23) was one of the fundamental challenges to the Social Pact for Peace and Common Well-being in this nation and the Great Lakes.
Originally proposed by the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO) and the Church of Christ in the Congo (ECC), this initiative was analyzed by the CIC at the request of Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi to enhance it.
On Monday, CIC representatives presented their experts’ evaluation report on the Pact, in which they also pointed out the existence of a geographic imbalance in the security analysis, as it focuses on the country’s eastern region to the detriment of other hotspots of tension, Actualite.CD reported.
