The Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission explained that the projects are divided into three tenders for the expansion of the new neighborhood of Ariel West with a total of 730 units while in Ma’ale Adumim about three thousand 300 will be built.
The works in that last settlement were approved in July and those of Ariel in May, he specified.
The Palestinian body warned that the speed of the process “confirms the race against time of the occupying state (Israel) to impose new facts on the ground”.
The Israeli non-governmental organization Peace Now also condemned the measure announced by the Ministry of Housing.
On its website, the group founded by former soldiers warned that the neighborhood of Ariel West is actually a new colony because it is located about two kilometers from the current settlement.
“The government of (Benjamin) Netanyahu is exploiting every minute to deepen the annexation of the West Bank and avoid the possibility of a two-state solution,” he criticized.
The head of the Commission, Mu’ayyad Shaaban, also condemned this week the expansion of the Eli colony, which occupies land in the villages of al-Sawiya, al-Lubban and Qaryut.
The official warned that 39 plans to expand colonization of the West Bank, including the occupied area of East Jerusalem, were being studied by the neighbouring country in July.
Recently, an Israeli non-governmental organization alerted to the escalation of violence and Netanyahu’s colonization strategy.
