“(…) We remember the 99th birthday of the great Commander Fidel Castro, a revolutionary leader who marked a before and after in the anti-imperialist struggle and for socialism in Cuba, Latin America, and the Caribbean.”
For its part, the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba expressed in a statement that it “(…) pays tribute to the 99th anniversary of the birth of Commander Fidel Castro.”
It added that Fidel Castro heroically led the revolutionary struggle from 1953 until achieving the definitive victory against imperialism in 1959, a triumph that illuminated the path for the Cuban people and all oppressed nations around the world. “The experience of revolutionary struggle of the Cuban workers and people constitutes a contribution of profound significance to the international revolutionary movement, which, without the guidance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, would have been impossible,” the statement adds.
On this occasion, the Cuban Embassy in the Plurinational State launched the commemorative cycle for the centennial of the revolutionary leader (August 13, 2026), led by Ambassador Elba Rosa Perez.
Children, youth, and adults paid tribute to the author of “History Will Absolve Me” with works of art, allegorical texts about his life and work, music, and a presentation about his concept of the defense of the homeland.
