Young leaders of the BRICS and the SCO will meet in Kazan

Moscow, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) From August 17 to 19, the city of Kazan will host the BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization Young Leaders Awards, the multinational TV channel TVBrics reported.

According to the announcement, the international competition, which is being held for the third time in the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, is intended to discover talented young people and recognize the contributions of young leaders to the development of areas of social importance.

This year, representatives from nine countries will participate in the finals: India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia.

Participants will be selected as winners in five categories: “Research and Innovation of the Year,” “Social Solution of the Year,” “Public Diplomacy Project of the Year,” “Green Initiative of the Year,” and “Young Media Influencer of the Year.”

In 2025, approximately 45 people competed for each spot in the competition, and more than 450 applications were received in total.

Interest in the award was expressed not only by the BRICS and SCO countries, but also by other states.

The finalists were the authors of large-scale projects: media initiatives promoting national culture, tourism, and science; educational platforms based on artificial intelligence; and developments in the field of high technologies, including early diagnosis systems for oncological diseases.

Ideas and solutions for human-drone interaction; social innovations; public diplomacy programs; and green projects were also presented.

Madhish Parikh, winner of the recent BRICS-SCO Young Leaders Award in the “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” category, from India, said this experience gave him the opportunity to gain global recognition.
