Russian Prosecutor’s Office declares German NGO EVZ “undesirable”

Moscow, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Prosecutor General's Office declared the German foundation Stiftung Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft e.V (EVZ), which operates in Germany, Israel, and Central Europe, "undesirable."

EVZ, which defines its mission as “keeping alive the memory of Nazi persecution and working for human rights and international understanding,” has adopted a biased and anti-Russian stance since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, according to the prosecutor’s office.

In addition, the organization disseminates calls for support for Ukraine and organizes fundraising campaigns, for which it established a “solidarity budget” for Kyiv, froze funding for a program to aid families of victims of Nazi crimes in Russia in 2024, and suspended the Russian representative at the foundation in 2025.

The Prosecutor General’s Office maintains in its statement that EVZ also seeks to “violate the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation, intensify military confrontation, radicalize society, and foster Russophobia.”

A declared undesirable entity loses the right to create structures and legal entities in Russia, implement projects, and disseminate information.

Russian citizens, Russian legal entities, and stateless persons permanently residing in Russia are prohibited from participating in the activities of declared undesirable entities.
