Exhibition claims legacy of women of the visual arts in Cuba

Havana, Ago 19 (Prensa Latina) "Footprints of women" is the title of the exhibition that can be seen today at the national headquarters of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), in this capital, as part of the activities for the organization’s 65th anniversary.

According to the statement, in the house of the FMC, located in Paseo street, corner 13, in the Vedado habanero, there are exhibited works by the recognized Cuban visual artists Zaida del Rio, Flora Fong and Lesbia Vent Dumois -the three National Awards for Plastic Arts , a tribute that celebrates the strength, passion and profound legacy of these figures.

In every stroke, color and formation of her works, the history, collective memory and indomitable spirit of the Cuban woman pulsates, the text assures.

It also adds that the creations of these artists are vibrant echoes of resistance and beauty, an intimate dialogue with identity and culture, expressed by the skill and sensitivity that only a life dedicated to art can achieve.

Also sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and the National Council of Plastics Arts, “Footprints of women”: a visual hymn to creative and resistent soul that live in Flora, Zaida and Lesbia, masters of light and memory”, is also a tribute to the legacy of the Heroine of the Republic Vilma Espin Guillois, founder of the FMC.
