A statement released on the official website of the Italian Ministry of Defense highlights that these shipments continued the day before, aboard C-130 aircraft, which have departed daily from Jordan since August 9 with supplies provided by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Colonel Davide Verdolini, commander of this humanitarian operation, indicated in statements to the press that among the 96 tons of supplies already dropped on the Strip, there are mainly canned foods.
Verdolini explained that some 40 Italian soldiers are working day and night to prepare the cargo in the hangar at the Jordanian military airport, where the contingent is deployed.
He specified that the airlift, which takes about an hour, is carried out through predefined corridors to avoid traffic problems.
