According to reports, the operation included the cooperation of Syrian military forces, which closed all access to the target area of the operation, which targeted a leader of the terrorist group Daesh, also known as ISIS.
Neither Damascus nor the United States has yet given an official statement regarding the operation.
Witnesses at the scene indicated that several helicopters began flying over the area early Wednesday, while sporadic exchanges of gunfire were heard.
On July 24, the International Coalition, in partnership with Syria’s Interior Ministry and Defense Ministry, carried out a similar operation in al-Bab, Aleppo Governorate, where Dhiya al-Hardani, considered a senior Daesh leader, was gunned down along with two of his sons.
