According to the National Emergency System (Sinae) there were 3,007 people assisted between the shelters of the Ministry of Social Development (2,359) and the evacuation centers (648) 60 days after the emergency was declared.
Sinae informed that “based on the forecasts adopted the previous day, according to the weather conditions, it was possible to meet the total demand for shelter”.
The police carried out 227 transfers throughout the country and the medical teams provided seven assistances.
The operation remains in force in the face of inclement cold temperatures and the safeguarding of homeless people and vulnerable animals.
In the meantime, the government initiated a consultation process on the way to elaborate a permanent strategy towards this vulnerable population.
