The release states that Volodin is making this official visit to Beijing responding to an invitation by Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China.

The Duma press service, in turn, highlighted that the visit’s program includes a series of meetings and the holding of the 10th session of the inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation between the Russian Federal Assembly (bicameral parliament) and the Chinese People’s Congress.

The meeting is expected to address issues related to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and China, as well as enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the economy, security, tourism, culture, education, science, and other areas.
