During the meeting, the two sides discussed initiatives to strengthen cooperation in social, educational and cultural fields. Participants stressed the importance of strengthening coordination in practical development projects, tourism, agricultural technology exchange and long-term assistance to regions affected by natural disasters.
For his part, Shi outlined Beijing’s development policies in Asia and China’s role in Asean, while the Burmese counterpart reiterated its readiness to contribute to joint initiatives.
They stressed that cooperation through the Friendship Association opens up new opportunities for regional integration, the generation of mutual benefits and the promotion of stability in the region.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange information on ongoing projects and explore new ways to strengthen political trust and mutual understanding.
Both delegations agreed that joint work should aim at balanced and sustainable development, in line with the principles of mutual respect and solidarity.
