According to the official report, Xi affirmed that the ties between the two parties are one of the most stable, mature, and strategic among major powers in a world marked by instability and change.

He highlighted that sustaining a high-level relationship between the two countries responds to the fundamental interests of their peoples and contributes to global stability.

The Chinese president recalled his state visit to Russia in May this year, during which he participated in the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

He underscored that China and the Soviet Union were the principal theaters of that war in Asia and Europe, respectively. Both nations made great sacrifices in the fight against Japanese militarism and German fascism.

The top Chinese leader urged to deepen traditional friendship, strengthen strategic trust, and cooperate in multiple areas to defend both nations’ security and development.

Volodin, in turn, conveyed personal greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Xi Jinping.

The visit comes just a few days after Russian leader Vladimir Putin arrived in China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and later the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
