New policy on schools in El Salvador highlighted

San Salvador, Aug 26 (Prensa Latina) The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, and other authorities, stressed today that the recent measures issued in the education sector are to avoid returning to gang control.

The pronouncements come after attacks from opposing sectors to the provisions “of order and civility” applied by the Ministry of Education, however those who oppose the measures remained silent in the face of the actions of criminal groups, spokesmen said.

The day before Bukele, explained that the disciplinary measures applied by the Ministry of Education (Mined) seek to prevent public schools and institutes from becoming scenarios of disorder or gang recruitment, as happened in the past.

“Today, many mothers mourn their children who are in prisons; others, those who are in the cemetery or are still missing”, the president wrote in the social network X.

Disciplinary measures in schools seek to prevent this tragedy from happening again.

They say that he who does not know his history is condemned to repeat it.

El Salvador will not repeat it, no matter how much we are criticized, he stressed.

Opposition sectors accuse the government of militarizing education with the appointment of the captain and Doctor of Medicine, Karla Trigueros, as head of the branch, and for the measures she implemented after assuming the post.
