Jordan condemns Israeli bombing of medical complex in Gaza

Amman, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) The Jordanian government today condemned the Israeli attack on the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, which left dozens dead and wounded, including journalists and humanitarian workers.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the bombing as a flagrant violation of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War.

The spokesman for the diplomatic body, Sufyan Qudah, further denounced the systematic use of siege tactics, including starvation, as a method of forcibly displacing Palestinians and warned that such practices fuel cycles of violence and instability that threaten the security of the entire region.

Qudah called on the international community to compel Israel to immediately stop its aggression, ensure the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza and support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in particular the establishment of an independent State on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In parallel, the Jordanian Armed Forces reported that they conducted a new humanitarian aid throwing into Gaza.

For its part, the Jordanian Press Association (JPA) condemned the “heinous crime” committed against the Khan Younis hospital, recalling that at least 20 Palestinians were killed by the attack, including journalists and humanitarian workers.

In its statement, the JPA stated that the continued Israeli attacks on civilians, communicators and relief personnel constitute a deliberate policy to silence the truth and cover up crimes against humanity, in open violation of international standards.
