Indian PM Narendra Modi visits Japan

Tokyo, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Japan on Friday to meet with his counterpart, Shigeru Ishiba, with whom he will address several key aspects of boosting the economy.

Official sources emphasized that the India-Japan Annual Summit represents the highest-level bilateral dialogue mechanism, enhancing the agenda of the special and global strategic partnership between the two countries.

Officials stated that the meeting between Modi and Ishiba will allow for an in-depth analysis of bilateral ties, assess progress in recent years in several areas, and exchange views on important regional and global issues.

NHK reported that the Japanese government hopes the meeting between the leaders in this capital will result in agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in various spheres.

Among them, the creation of a new economic security framework to boost cooperation in areas such as semiconductors, critical minerals, artificial intelligence (AI), and pharmaceuticals.

Modi’s agenda in Japan also includes meetings with other political leaders and friends of India, and his participation in a business forum with key figures from both countries’ industries.
