Spain seeks plan to end Gaza famine

Madrid, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) The Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, will ask in Copenhagen to design a plan to put an end to the famine induced by Israel in Gaza.

In declarations in the Danish capital, reproduced by the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Albares’ idea was reported, and he will speak with his counterparts on the matter during the informal meeting in the main city of the Nordic country.

It is a crucial moment for Spain and for Europe in which our voice must be heard in defense of peace, of international law, of the United Nations and of all that we Europeans are, said the head of Spanish diplomacy.

He stressed that, with Israel’s actions, the lives of thousands of Gazans, among them children and babies, continue to be in danger, on the occasion of the meeting in Copenhagen that will analyze today and tomorrow the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.

Albares spoke out in favor of extending the list of those sanctioned “to all those who want to spoil” the two-state solution (of Palestine and Israel), an initiative defended by Spain, which, he considers, “will bring peace and stability to the Middle East”.

He also pondered the idea of guaranteeing that no one in the European Union (EU) sells arms to Israel to continue the war.
