Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu held a press briefing to explain China’s diplomacy, the guiding principles of its foreign policy, the global initiatives it promotes, and its commitment to inclusive, fair, equitable, and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Regarding the Global South, he emphasized that Beijing has maintained a historic relationship with these nations, expressed in concrete measures such as the issuance of action plans, joint declarations, and other documents, in pursuit of building a community with a shared future.

The official underscored that China strengthens multilateral cooperation through platforms such as the United Nations, G20, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), aimed at defending the common interests of the Global South nations.

The vice minister’s remarks come as preparations for the military parade on September 3 in Tiananmen Square to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the defeat of fascism.

Twenty-six heads of State and Government, including many from the Global South such as Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, will participate in this event.
