The information was released by President Luis Abinader during a meeting with the press, during which he referred to the transformation and growth of civil aviation, with greater connectivity and operational security, modernization of airports and digitization of processes.
The President said that, thanks to the Open Skies policy, the country is the second with the highest air connectivity index in Latin America and the Caribbean, going from 878 to 1,96 routes operated between 2020 and 2025.
He mentioned 13 active domestic airlines, more than double the number in 2020, and a 365 percent increase in available seats on them.
New companies such as Arajet and Sky High Aviation expand the offer of domestic and international flights by connecting the Dominican Republic with more than 414 destinations in 75 countries, he said.
