The two main political forces of the country are currently being measured: The right-wing alliance of La Libertad Avanza and Propuesta Republicana, and the provincial Peronism gathered in the Fuerza Patria front.
These elections are seen as a catalyst for the government of President Javier Milei and the influence of the Peronists in their main bastion.
The vote will renew half of the provincial Legislature based in the city of La Plata. The total body is composed of 92 legislators; half of them, 46, have their term of office at the end of the year and will have to revalidate their seats.
Currently, the Peronist party Union por la Patria (UP) has 37 members in the provincial legislature.
Although it is the first minority, it is not enough to impose its projects.
Then, La Libertad Avanza has 13 seats; the PRO, another 13, while the UCR-Cambio Federal, eight, and the UCR Acuerdo Cívico, seven.
The Civic Coalition has three seats and the Left Front has two legislators.
