Poland rules out sending troops to Ukraine

Warsaw, Sep 9 (Prensa Latina) The president of Poland, Andrzej Duda, ruled out sending troops from his country to Ukraine, considering the lack of such a need in the current context, reported the portal Polsat.

The presence of the Polish Army in Ukraine, from my point of view, is excluded. There is no need for it, the president said at a conference.

Duda added that he would not give his consent to such a deployment and noted that he has not received concrete proposals from other North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) allies on a collective dispatch of forces.

The Polish leader stressed that, should such an extreme option be considered, it would be up to other members of the Atlantic alliance, and not to the countries of the eastern flank, to take the first step.

Meanwhile, experts interpret his words as an attempt to distance himself from more belligerent positions and Warsaw seeks a balance, maintaining its rhetoric of support for Kiev, but avoiding actions that Moscow could interpret as a direct escalation.

Nevertheless, Duda reiterated his government’s commitment to continue military and logistical support to Kiev in the coming months and years, until a lasting peace is reached.
