During the Ambank Group’s 50th anniversary dinner, Anwar explained that Trump called him personally to announce his intention to attend the meeting, which will also be attended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

The Malaysian head of government added that Russian President Vladimir Putin is also “seriously considering” traveling to Kuala Lumpur, after holding a bilateral meeting in Beijing.

“So, we will have Trump, Putin and Li Qiang in Malaysia,” Anwar highlighted, underlining the geopolitical relevance that the country acquired amid the current global uncertainties.

In this regard, the premier stressed the importance of maintaining political stability and economic clarity as decisive factors to strengthen investor confidence.
