‘The government of Uruguay condemns the attacks perpetrated by Israel in the city of Doha and expresses its solidarity with the government and the people of Qatar’, indicates the statement issued by Foreign Ministry.

According to the text, Such attacks ‘constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the sovereignty and security of Qatar, and aggravate the already deteriorating security situation in the Middle East’.

‘Uruguay reiterates its urgent appeal not to undermine efforts to reach a negotiated solution of substance on the crisis in Gaza’, the statement concludes. The bombing targeted the Hamas delegation engaged in indirect talks with Tel Aviv.

Israel claimed that it was an independent operation, although several sources indicate that the US government was informed in advance.

The foreign ministries of several countries expressed their condemnation for the attacks in Qatar.
