The military institution reported that the maneuvers aim at improving the skills of commanders and command posts, as well as the level of interoperability and field preparation of regional and coalition troop groups to fulfill joint missions to maintain peace, protect interests, and ensure military security.
The Ministry pointed out that the practical exercises within the framework of Zapad 2025 will take place at training sites located in Belarus and Russia, as well as in the Baltic Sea and the Barents Sea.
The text pointed out that the military personnel from both countries will be trained in the control of joint, regional, and coalition troops in the event of a potential attack on the Union State (Russia and Belarus) and will practice diverse joint action options to neutralize threats and stabilize the situation on their borders.
Military contingents from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and other partner countries were reportedly invited to conduct combat exercises as part of a coalition group.
