On the social media platform X, the president highlighted the close ties between the two nations and Mexico’s contributions to Latin American unity.
“Happy Day, Mexico! the beloved nation that has contributed so much to the freedom, sovereignty, and unity of Latin America. The one that has been and is for Cuba, a sister in good times and in difficult times. We celebrate as our own the anniversary of your cry for freedom: Long Live Mexico!” the head of state wrote on X.
For his part, the president of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, sent congratulations on the social media platform “to the people, the government, and the parliamentary authorities of this sister nation”, and reaffirmed the desire to continue strengthening interparliamentary relations.
Likewise, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero reiterated at the 10th meeting his country’s gratitude to Mexico for its historic support and solidarity, and expressed his willingness to continue expanding bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez also expressed his congratulations to the Mexican people and reaffirmed the island’s interest in continuing to strengthen existing ties between the two nations.
This Tuesday, the celebrations for the 215th anniversary of the beginning of the struggles for independence will continue in Mexico with the traditional military parade, the first to be led by President Sheinbaum.
