Jordan delivers 119,000 tons of aid to Gaza

Amman, Sept 16 (Prensa Latina) The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) reported that the Kingdom-led humanitarian campaign delivered more than 119,000 metric tons of aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza, despite severe restrictions on humanitarian access.

According to the organization’s most latest report, as of September 10, 8,480 trucks with humanitarian cargo entered Gaza via land convoys, while the Royal Jordanian Air Force, in coordination with allied countries, carried out 400 joint airdrops and another 164 Jordanian-only airdrops.

In addition to land and air transport, Jordan deployed community initiatives within the enclave, including mobile bakeries with the capacity to produce up to 40,000 loaves of bread daily, distributing more than 390,000 loaves of bread in one week.

The JHCO explained that shipment planning is based on a multi-level needs assessment, prioritizing essential food, water, flour, and emergency medical supplies. Requests from hospitals, municipalities, and UN agencies are also taken into account, with weekly adjustments based on access conditions, security, and emerging humanitarian priorities.

Currently, Jordanian aid enters Gaza primarily through the Zekeem crossing, provided the so-called “windows of passage” allow. Airdrops, meanwhile, depend on precise mapping of distribution areas to ensure the safe arrival of supplies.

In a recent action, the JHCO delivered a shipment of medical aid sent by the Indian government to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The donation, arranged in collaboration with the Indian and Jordanian embassies in Palestine, includes cancer medications, antibiotics, painkillers, asthma treatments, anesthesia supplies, emergency equipment, disinfectants, and dialysis machines. The Palestinian Minister of Health, Majed Abu Ramadan, expressed his gratitude for this actions.
