This was expressed by the top Cuban diplomat on the occasion of the International Day of Science, Technology, and Innovation for the Global South, established by the United Nations (UN).

In a message posted on social media, the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this event was established following the consensus reached at the G-77 Summit plus China, held in Havana in September 2023, where Cuba held the pro tempore presidency of the bloc.

The date, commemorated every September 16, seeks to highlight the scientific capabilities of developing nations and strengthen their participation in the global innovation agenda, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. jdt/jha/mks
