Haiti: Gang members destroy another police station

Port-au-Prince, Sept 16 (Prensa Latina) The Haitian National Police (PNH) lost another police station after an attack by the Grand Grif gang, a criminal group that is currently keeping the population of the Liancourt commune in despair.

For several days, the criminals attempted to take over the PNH unit, until a better-organized assault resulted in the victory, forcing the officers to flee for their lives.

That police station, reported the online newspaper Haiti Libre, located in Liancourt in the Bas Artibonite region, was looted, burned, and then demolished.

In July, members of the Kokorat San Ras gang attacked and burned the Marchand-Dessalines police station, as part of their strategy to destroy police stations.

Aside from the building, no other buildings were damaged, and no human lives were reported. Some reported that the bandits stole several motorcycles.

This attack occurred amid a particularly tense climate of insecurity in the region.

The fire at the police station not only damaged the infrastructure but also generated fear among residents, who expressed their anger and dismay at this escalation of violence.
