Defense Minister General Vladimir Padrino explained before the national television and with the High Command, the military exercise being carried out on the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the FANB, President Nicolas Maduro.
He stated that the war strategy will serve to improve preparation on the ground and increase operational readiness in the face of “the military threat” posed in the Caribbean against the Bolivarian Republic and its people.
“A threatening, vulgar voice has been raised against our people, their legitimate authorities, and the Commander in Chief,” the high command emphasized, highlighting the “resounding response of the people” to this threat, which is expressed in the “patriotic sentiment that envelops the entire nation today.”
The Vice President for Sovereignty, Security, and Peace emphasized that the FANB has been carrying out its operational readiness tasks, as outlined in the military doctrine written and directed by Commander Hugo Chavez and continued “with great fervor” by President Nicolas Maduro.
He stated that in the face of the imperialist threat, they have been strengthened with the deployment of rapid reaction units throughout the country and operational units in the west with Colombia in Binational Zone Number One, to liberate it from drug trafficking, armed groups, and terrorists.
Padrino emphasized that the exercise will be “quite comprehensive,” with a Task Force, Joint Aerospace Task Forces of the Special Forces, Intelligence and Electronic Warfare, Maritime, and Land Forces. These will include the deployment of air defense assets such as drones, as well as the deployment of BUK and ZU anti-aircraft artillery missile systems, among other activities, he added.
