Doctor Garcia stressed that this is the fifth Spanish mission focused on children who cannot be treated with severe traumas in Gaza, “who have suffered bombings, have tumors that can not be treated in their country, with heart disease.
In that sense, the Minister of Health recalled that Spain already brought half a hundred children from Gaza to give them the necessary assistance.
The Spanish Air Force sent a medical plane to Amman late last July, to Jordan capital, to move 13 sick Gaza children with their families to Spain.
An initiative that has been running since 2024 and which the previous week had the support of a national government emergency declaration, for health care to the sick or wounded coming from the armed conflict in Gaza, in particular infants.
The programme covers transport services, temporary reception with accommodation, maintenance and coverage of other basic needs, social support and intervention, together with psychological and legal assistance, translation and interpretation.
