The Ministry of Defence reported that soldier Abbas Ammar Abbas fell in combat on the Deir Hafer front following an assault launched by SDF elements while serving as a territorial guard.
In the same sector, military man Saleh Abdul-Moneim Nasser was shot dead by a sniper linked to that group.
On September 21, seven civilians, including two minors, were killed in the village of Um Tina during clashes and shelling in the same area of contact where the SDF maintains an armed presence.
In another incident on September 10, the village of Al-Kayariya was the target of a similar attack that killed two civilians and injured three others.
The authorities in Damascus reiterate that these actions are part of a pattern of destabilization sponsored from abroad, It violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and hampers the government’s efforts to restore security and civilian life in regions affected by the conflict.
In turn, the SDF issued a statement attributing recent clashes to alleged attacks by “pro-Turkish factions affiliated with Damascus”, although without providing concrete evidence.
