After seven years of absence, Silvio returns to this country as part of a Latin American tour, which began on the steps of the University of Havana and will continue in Argentina, Uruguay, Peru and Colombia.
Although he had originally planned two concerts on September 29 and October 1, he had to schedule two more on October 5 and 6 after tickets for his performances ran out in just a few hours.
The author of well-known compositions like Ojala, Te doy una cancion and La Maza will interprite from his repertoire ranging from his most emblematic pieces to those from his recent album Queria saber.
In this reunion with the Chilean public, Silvio will be accompanied by four local musicians who will open the show each night: Manuel Garcia, Illapu, Patricio Anabalon and Nano Stern.
Chile was the first Latin American country that the Cuban singer-songwriter visited in 1972, during the government of Salvador Allende, and after the 1973 coup d’etat he could not go back there until the return to democracy in 1990.
In March of that year he gave a concert at the National Stadium, where some 80 thousand people gathered to applause him.
