From Zimbabwe, Cuba reaffirms support for Venezuela (+Photos)

Harare, Sep 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's State Mission in Zimbabwe reaffirmed its support for Venezuela in the face of US threats, with the signing of the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government in Solidarity with the Homeland of Hugo Chavez.

Diplomats and members of the educational and medical brigades signed the document in this capital and the cities of Bulawayo and Bindura, in which it “urges to prevent a military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela” in the face of the escalating actions to justify it.

Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Susellys Perez Mesa, expressed her categorical support for the South American nation via video conference with her Venezuelan counterpart in Namibia, concurrently accredited to this nation, Magaly Henriquez Gonzalez.

Perez Mesa referred to Cuba’s recent statement by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, on the High-Level Segment of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), calling for international mobilization to prevent the sinister interests of the United States.

The diplomat explained the signature campaign in the Caribbean nation and its missions abroad, insisting that what is currently at risk is the peace of the region and the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.

Ambassador Henriquez Gonzalez stated that we are not alone, thanks to Cuba and many friends around the world, showing the need to stand together and raise our voices in the fight for freedom and peace in Latin America.

I thank with all my heart the support for our struggle for the ideals of Liberator Simon Bolivar, and of Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan diplomat stated.

Isnel Gonzalez, coordinator of the Cuban Education Brigade in this nation, remembered Washington’s repeated attempts to undermine regional peace and stability as part of its imperial policy, and the media’s role in disinformation campaigns to support provocations.
