Through his account on the social media platform X, the foreign minister stated that “Israel must cease its disrespect for international law, as well as its blockade and genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.”
Last Wednesday, the flotilla denounced on social media that it was attacked by at least 10 Israeli ships while sailing in international waters.
They issued a distress signal after being intercepted, calling the action a “war crime.”
The International Committee to Break the Siege of Gaza confirmed that the Israeli Navy intercepted some of the approximately 50 ships that make up the flotilla, some separated by only a few nautical miles.
Since 2007, Israel has maintained a total land, sea, and air blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to some 2.4 million Palestinians, 1.5 million of whom have been left homeless by indiscriminate bombing.
According to Palestinian medical sources, since the start of the current offensive on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 66,148 people and injured 168,716, mostly children and women.
