This was revealed on his Telegram account by the senior Bolivarian diplomat, who stated that the conversation took place “within the framework of his country’s presidency of the UN Security Council.”

Gil indicated that he explained to his counterpart the security situation in the Caribbean in the face of repeated threats from political sectors in the United States that “seek to justify a military deployment in our region” and jeopardize the stability of the continent.

“We receive,” he stated, “the full expression of support and solidarity from the Russian government with Venezuela, as well as its commitment to preserving Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.”

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister emphasized that they agreed on the importance of strengthening joint action within the framework of the UN, the Security Council, and the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter to ensure respect for international law and the sovereignty of peoples.
