Such a state of mind was confirmed by the most recent national survey conducted by Zuban Cordoba y Asoc firm from September 28 to October 4. Media outlets agree that Espert has become the black swan undermining the image of the libertarian government.
The survey shows that more than 76.3 percent of Argentines estimate that the uproar generated by the congressman’s fraudulent conduct harms Javier Milei’s administration.
Following Espert’s resignation last night, it remains to be seen whether public opinion will change, political analysts stated.
The uproar will continue as the Chamber of Deputies will debate the request to remove Espert from his post as chairman of the important Budget and Finance Committee on Wednesday.
Some legislators are even calling for an impeachment to remove the embattled politician and Milei’s ally from Congress.
