The 110-page document states that Jara, who is the candidate of the alliance Unidad por Chile (Unity for Chile), promises to create more jobs and gradually move toward a living income that will allow families to reach the end of month.
The document states that our economy is embedded in a complex international scenario. We are witnessing an increase in protectionism around the world, a climate crisis with severe impacts, and the emergence of new technologies that generate employment uncertainty.
Regarding security, the proposal is to combat drug trafficking and organized crime, and take concrete steps to safeguard the rule of law so that all people can enjoy public spaces with peace of mind.
Security is not limited only to prosecuting crimes, but also to preventing violence from childhood and supporting victims, the candidate’s team states in its platform.
Regarding the third pillar, the candidate promises to reduce the waiting time for surgery or specialist care, which currently stands at almost one year and eight months, respectively; guarantee medicines at fair prices; and provide universal primary healthcare.
Addressing current challenges in housing and education are also part of the plan.
Jara represents a coalition of eight leftist, progressive, and social-democratic parties, plus the Christian Democrats (DC). According to all polls, she leads vote intentions for the November 16 elections.
