A special plane dispatched by Beijing landed at Islamabad International Airport with 90 tons of essential supplies, including 700 tents, 16,000 blankets, 1,000 life jackets, and 4,000 sleeping bags, government sources told the media.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the arrival of this shipment is part of China’s Monsoon Relief Assistance Program for Pakistan.
The NDMA is coordinating with relevant federal and provincial institutions to ensure the rapid and transparent distribution of supplies to affected families.
Last September, China delivered 300 tents and 9,000 blankets to Pakistan, aid for which Islamabad is grateful, as this timely assistance underscores Beijing’s determination to support Pakistan in times of natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
Islamabad also expressed deep appreciation for China’s continued support, which, he noted, provides urgent aid to those in danger and symbolizes the enduring friendship and unwavering collaboration between the two countries.
Heavy monsoon rains caused flash floods in several areas of Pakistan in September and early October, displacing thousands of families and damaging homes, roads, and farmland.
