“What we seek is for both states to coexist, for peace to be built, and for this terrible situation of aggression against civilians in Palestine to end. We even classify it, yes, as genocide,” the president asserted.

In her regular press conference, the head of the Executive reiterated the need for humanitarian aid to the enclave attacked by Tel Aviv since 2023, which has left more than 67,000 Palestinians dead, mostly women and children, and more than 169,000 injured.

“We’re in favor of humanitarian aid for Palestine, particularly for Gaza Strip. We didn’t like the way this group of people carrying humanitarian aid was intercepted,” she said, referring to the Sumud Global Flotilla.

Last Wednesday, Israeli military vessels surrounded the flotilla in international waters, which included hundreds of activists from various nations aiming to break the blockade that is plunging Gaza into famine, and began boarding and arresting its members.

The Mexican Foreign Ministry recently reported that Arlin Medrano, Sol Gonzalez, Carlos Perez, Ernesto Ledesma, Diego Vazquez, and Laura Alejandra Velez, the Mexicans present at the initiative, are safe, and that efforts are progressing with the Israeli government to repatriate them.

“We are in contact with our colleagues there, through the ambassador (Mauricio Escanero to Israel), and we are working to ensure their repatriation is imminent,” the president confirmed this Monday, recalling her administration’s actions and the previous ones regarding the situation in Gaza.
