Flooding in the White and Blue Nile states of homes and crops forced tens of thousands of residents in both territories to seek refuge in high areas, according to reports spread in this capital.
The catastrophe adds to the civil war that shook Sudan more than two years ago, causing the largest displacement crisis in history, more than 14 million human beings.
Heavy downpours at the source of the river caused an excessive flood, vital for the economic and social life of several countries, in particular Egypt, where it flows into the Mediterranean Sea.
The floods surprised residents in both states in the middle of the night and caused widespread panic, according to testimonies from residents in the disaster areas.
So far there is no official information of human victims, although it is possible that with the passing of the hours reports will arise on the matter.
