Panamanians highlight impact of IX Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba

Panama City, Oct 12 (Prensa Latina) Members of the National Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba in Panama highlighted the impact of the IX Continental Meeting, which concludes in Mexico, and the renewed commitment to the defense of that noble people.

Professor Gabriela Rosas emphasized that the opportunity to participate in this forum was an opportune moment to recognize the example of the triumphant Revolution of 1959 and its dignified resistance to the criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States more than six decades ago.

She also said the occasion was a fitting opportunity to express gratitude for all that Cubans have given to the world and for the unconditional collaboration of their medical and teaching teams during the most difficult times.

For her part, Professor Adela Panezo indicated that this meeting allowed them to connect and bond with representatives of other countries who work selflessly in defense of the island’s sovereignty and other nations besieged by the empire, such as Venezuela, Nicaraagua, and Palestine.

In the event, where delegates will approve a final declaration and new strategies to strengthen support for the island in the face of the US siege, held four working groups, including one dedicated to strengthening solidarity with Cuba, combating the siege, and the demand to remove the Caribbean nation from Washington’s unilateral list of countries alleged to be sponsors of terrorism.

In the other groups, the participants discussed ways to promote economic solidarity with the Caribbean nation; regional coordination and integration; and the challenges of disinformation campaigns and media warfare.

The meeting brought together hundreds of delegates from 25 Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as Spain, Lebanon, and the United States, in the Mexican capital since Thursday.

The meeting aimed at developing courses of action to promote solidarity with the largest of the Antilles.
