In a statement, the Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc stated that it is closely monitoring the progress made in the negotiations between the Palestinian authorities, the Hamas movement, and the government of Israel, with the mediation of various countries in the region.

In this context, it reaffirmed that “true peace will only be possible when all forms of occupation cease and the historic and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people are fully and unconditionally restored.”

The Alliance denounced that the genocide perpetrated in the Gaza Strip “constitutes one of the most serious and shameful crimes in contemporary history,” and that those responsible for such acts must be held accountable before international justice, as no sustainable peace can be built on impunity or the denial of the right to self-determination.

The text recognized the decisive role of the international mobilization, of the Arab and Muslim states, and of the peoples of the South who, “with dignity and perseverance, have upheld the Palestinian cause.”

It urged the international community to maintain diplomatic and political efforts aimed at guaranteeing the right of the Palestinian people to an independent and sovereign state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.

ALBA-TCP—faithful to its founding principles of independence, justice, and peace—reiterated its firm and permanent solidarity with the Palestinian people and its determination to support, in all multilateral forums, the struggle for a just, lasting, and truly humane peace.
