On his X profile, Rodriguez emphasized that both events showed the strong ties that the Cubans abroad maintain with their homeland, as well as a permanent spirit of solidarity and commitment to Cuba.
The 1st National Meeting of Cubans Residing in Ireland and Their Descendants was held at the Institute of Ireland on October 11, with the participation of about 50 Cubans and their families from the country’s several counties.
Attendees received, during the event, a message from Ana Teresita Gonzalez, Director General of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad at the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX), who highlighted the importance of these meetings and underscored the activism of the Cuban community in Ireland in the fight against the United States-imposed economic warfare policy, which seeks to stifle the island.
Gonzalez also expressed gratitude for the donations made by Cubans abroad to mitigate the consequences of the US blockade.
