Ushakov said, “Soon after a phone call with Trump last night, the Russian president convened a meeting of the permanent Security Council members in the Kremlin to inform them about the exchange of opinions with his US counterpart.”
The US president noted that the conversation, which focused on the prospects for trade between the United States and Russia after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, was “productive” and “great progress” had been made.
Trump also announced that he will meet with Putin in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
This eighth phone call between the two presidents in 2025 is part of a series of frequent exchanges, including conversations of more than two hours, demonstrating active communication between the two countries.
