Brazil is fully prepared for COP30

Brasilia, Oct 20 (Prensa Latina) Just a few days before the opening of COP30, the Brazilian Government affirms it is fully prepared to host the event in Belem, capital of the northern state of Para, from November 10 to 21.

Federal authorities and the Para administration are intensifying infrastructure, logistics, and security measures to meet the standards required by the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC-COP30).

A government spokesperson said, “Belem will be the global platform for climate action in 2025; we have taken on the challenge of being ready, and we want to show that Brazil can lead this process.”

Officially chosen to host the forum, the Amazonian city represents a clear signal that the global climate agenda will place a special focus on tropical biomes and the recovery of the Global South.

For Brazil, this edition is an opportunity to establish itself as a main player in climate negotiations, connect its natural resources, especially the Amazon, with global challenges, and strengthen its commitments to adaptation, mitigation, and climate finance.

The Government announced that the leading works related to the event, including the negotiation zone (blue zone) and temporary infrastructure in Belem’s main park, will be completed by November 1.
