Russia warns that Venezuelan President’s life is in danger

Moscow, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) The life of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is in danger. History knows many cases of the hunt for leaders of countries that are undesirable to Washington, former Russian Prime Minister Sergey Stepashin declared.

“The greatest danger threatens the life of the President of Venezuela. He was declared a drug trafficker, a million-dollar reward was offered, and the hunt against him began. We know many examples of this type of action by the United States against the leaders of those countries that are inconvenient for them,” Stepashin told the TASS news agency.

The Russian politician also considered the possibility of a military conflict between the United States and Venezuela to be very high.

Previously, the US news agency AP reported that Washington was working to recruit one of the pilots of the Venezuelan president’s plane. According to their report, in April 2024, US authorities received information from an informant in the Dominican Republic, which led intelligence services to one of Maduro’s pilots. He was asked to send the plane to one of the locations where US authorities could arrest him.

Specifically, the pilot was asked to land a plane with the Venezuelan leader in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, or at the US base in Guantanamo Bay, the outlet reported.

In return, according to the agency, US representatives promised to make the pilot “very rich.”

Maduro has repeatedly stated that his country is subjected to the most serious threat of invasion in the last 100 years by the United States. Washington uses the pretext of accusing Venezuelan authorities of not being active enough in the fight against drug trafficking.
