Venezuela presented its National Science and Technology Plan 2025-2050

Caracas, Nov 5 (Prensa Latina) The government presented the National Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation Culture for the development of a powerful Venezuela 2025-2050, which now serves as the foundation for the country's transformation.

This project was conceived in conjunction with the various stakeholders of the National Science, Technology, and Innovation System, in a participatory process and with a commitment to the nation, Minister Gabriela Jimenez announced on the Telegram social network.

She emphasized that it is a structured roadmap that “defines the national scientific agenda, promotes the development of a scientific culture, and recognizes science as the essential engine of social transformation.”

The Venezuelan Vice President for Science, Technology, Education, and Health stated that the purpose “is to foster bold, critical, and emancipatory thinking,” capable of challenging the cultural and social limitations that have hindered development.

To usher, she stressed, in a new era of growth, creativity, and technological sovereignty.

This innovative spirit, Jimenez said, is based on open science at the service of the people, which is reflected in the recognition granted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to the Biotechnology Center for the Production of Asexual Seeds.

She stated that the institution was accredited as a Category II Open Science Center within the United Nations system.

In the opinion of the Venezuelan biologist and researcher, this result reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to “inclusive knowledge, social justice, and international cooperation.”
