Referenced by the local press, the report poindits out that the situation is expected to worsen in 2026 due to ongoing armed conflicts, floods, and population displacement.
Throughout the year, analyses of food insecurity in the DRC have shown an increasing number of people in critical situations, primarily in the North Kivu, South Kivu, Tanganyika, and Ituri provinces, the most devastated by the conflict and attacks on the civilian population.
The report pointed out that environmental destruction, due to confrontations and natural disasters such as floods, as well as persistent insecurity in agricultural areas, are significant factors in worsening the situation.
This also includes the mass displacement of populations due to violence and the difficulties in the delivery of humanitarian aid, both due to a lack of funds and security problems, and a lack of infrastructure.
