The meeting is part of the 21st General Assembly of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI), whose Secretary General, Almudena Maillo, of Spain, must present the 2025-2027 Strategic Plan, which seeks to strengthen the role of major Ibero-American cities as engines of development and prosperity.
Her priority is to approve the organization’s new strategic agenda, renew its leadership structure, and define the political and cooperation priorities that will guide actions in the coming years.
The event will allow for addressing several issues of particular concern to the Ibero-American cities and the local governments responsible for their management.
The Ibero-American Cities Forum will serve, in parallel, for technical exchange and dialogue among local governments, with thematic panels on innovation and the urban economy, mobility and transportation, security and community prevention, cultural and tourism development, social inclusion, local governance, and environmental sustainability.
Mayors, international experts, representatives of multilateral organizations, and academicians are participating, focused on the central role of cities as drivers of sustainable development and regional integration.
