Under the theme “China Supports Africa’s Industrialization: Promoting Green, Coordinated, and Sustainable Development,” the Ethiopia News Agency organized the event that brought together high-ranking officials and experts to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two sides.
Simenew Keskis, advisor to the Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology, noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping’s initiative to support the continent’s industrialization represents a key moment for greater integration and modernization.
Keskis emphasized that industrial development is not only an economic priority for Addis Ababa, but also a fundamental element of the nation’s aspirations for prosperity and self-reliance.
“For us, sustainable industrialization is the only sure path to creating high-value jobs and driving innovation, which will ultimately lead our economy to achieve high-income status,” he stated.
He highlighted the benefits of cooperation with Beijing, including investments in essential capital, technology, and expertise, which have enabled job creation and contributed to the country’s industrialization.
