Essential to validating the elections’ logistics from the opening of polling stations to the transmission of results, including in areas affected by rain or with limited connectivity, the simulation will be conducted nationwide.
According to news reports, in the Central District, a municipality comprised of Tegucigalpa and its twin city, Comayaguela, the governing body for the referendum has set up three schools as mock polling stations.
These locations will join dozens of educational centers distributed throughout the main departments (regions), where the election simulation will be carried out simultaneously.
The exercise will assess the technical capacity of the transmission of preliminary electoral results (known as TREP), as well as the performance of the personnel who will operate the election on November 30.
